Where is Kal’e Moru beach located?

The beach of Kal’e Moru is located in the municipality of Quartu Sant’Elena, in Geremeas, between Mari Pintau and the beach of Geremeas, that is in the eastern part of the bay, a few steps from the Sette Fratelli Park. The name of this beach (literally “landing of the Saracen”) derives from the historical coincidence of the Saracen incursions which, for a very long time raided these coasts, plundered the villages and tortured the populations.

A miracle of nature that repeats itself

In an island, like Sardinia, full of breathtaking views, the beach of Kal’e Moru, with its mix of sea and vegetation capable of creating a truly evocative show, is one of the most enchanting in southern Sardinia.

  • The beach: it is almost three kilometers long and is surrounded by rocks. Its bottom is of coarse grained sand and of a color that goes from white to golden.
  • Vegetation: at the western end, a few steps from the Parco dei Sette Fratelli, the beach ends with a promontory on which climbs a luxuriant Mediterranean vegetation.
  • The sea: it is a crystalline mirror that starts out as emerald green to become turquoise as the depth of the water increases. The seabed, also in this stretch of coast, is low and sandy.

If you are a surfer, you will be pleased to know that the area is very windy and that every year brings together many people who share your passion. Scuba fishing? Bring the necessary equipment with you, even in this case you will be in good company. If you are not fond of this kind of sport, you can “console yourself” with a snorkeling trip.

The beach of Kal’e Moru, for its beauty and livability, is very popular, especially in high season, even by families. In this long stretch of beach there are several establishments, where you can rent the necessary bathing equipment to spend whole days enjoying the sun and the sea. The shallow water is ideal for children. You can also rent pedal boats and canoes for fun outings or to keep fit even during the holidays. Who owns a boat, will also find a storage. There are also several refreshment points. Near the provincial road there are also a mini market and a bar-tobacconist.
