Travelling east- and westwards from the Hotel, the visitor can discover countless small bays characterised by white fine sand and crystal clear sea, but also long beaches, including “Kala e Moru”, awarded with the “Blue Flag” by the European Union for the clearness of its waters and the cleanness of his sand.
This area boasts several archaeological sites such us “Domus de janas”, small burial mounds dating back to 6000-3500 b. Chr., or the so-called “Giants’ Tombs” and the Nuraghe Cixilianiu.
Furthermore there are towers and fortresses built by the Spanish between the 1500s and the 1600s (e.g.: Torre di Capo Boi and Fortezza Vecchia).
Travelling 20 km eastwards on the coast road you will get to Villasimius, popular holiday resort and site of one of the only two Italian Sea Parks (the other one is in Ustica).
In most areas of the Sea Park is allowed to swim, fish, sail and take part in underwater excursions.
Geremeas does not only mean beautiful beaches: it is also the gateway to the Natural Park “Sette Fratelli”:
Here it is possible to wander in the woods among live oaks, cork oaks, oleander trees and the Mediterranean scrub. In the middle of the Park there are the mountains called “Sette Fratelli” (the highest one is Punta Ceraxa - 1016 m.). The fauna living in the Park is very rich and includes deer specimen and mufflons.

Only 25km west from Geremeas there is Cagliari, the main Sardinian town, where you can choose whether to stroll in the ancient town with its monuments and small handicraft shops or go high street shopping. Do not forget to visit the areas called Castello, on the highest part of Cagliari with wonderful views over the city, and the streets of “Marina”, just in front of the sea-port. Do not miss: the Cathedral, the Bonaria church, the roman amphitheatre, the Museum Compound, the Botanic Gardens, S. Michael Castle…you will be just spoilt for choice!
